Burning Love: Five Reasons Grill Masters are Better Lovers

April 24, 2015 By Weber Collins

If your love life has hit the skids then you might want to consider having a fling with your local Grill Master. I’m not talking about grabbing dinner and a movie with any old bloke that has a two-bit gasser of a grill. I am talking down and dirty, hot and steamy nights of passion with a Master of the Flames.Serious Eats - Copy

If you have never considered a barbecue fanatic as the ideal romantic companion then here are five reasons why you should!

1. Grill Masters love big butts. Self body image issues are a huge mental hang up for so many people. You can’t let yourself go and fully release if you are worried that you are too fat/short/pale/whatever. Grill Masters specialize in taking things that society has judged “second rate” and bringing out their true beauty and glory. Fifty years ago nobody except Grill Masters wanted tough and fatty cuts like briskets and pork butts. A Grill Master knows your true beauty really rests on the inside. A Grill Master knows how to coax that beauty to the surface.

2. Grill Masters offer you an amazing array of variety. Even the most amazing thing can get boring if repeated again and again. Monotony is never an issue when dealing with a Grill Master. You might be going in for a nice relaxing session of “Low and Slow” when all of a sudden…BAM!… they are throwing things around “Hot and Fast”. Grill Masters are always experimenting with spicy beef injections and are often in possession of amazing sausages. Grill Masters love bringing you Sweet with a touch of Heat.

3. Grill Masters love toys. You will never find a Grill Master that owns a single grill. They will often have at least four pits and every type of gadget that goes with them. Many toys of the Grill Master are battery powered and waterproof; this helps when operating equipment in wet conditions. Some Grill Masters have personalized branding irons but these are a special class of people. Speaking of which…

4. Grill Masters are in Control. Fifty Shades of Grey was a best seller for a reason. Deep down there is a desire to completely give yourself to another person. Grill Masters are already used to being called Master. There is no awkwardness in this for them. Grill Masters are in complete control of their burning fires. They can find a smoldering ember and stoke it into a flaming inferno at their will. They extinguish the flames at their pleasure.

5. Grill Masters keep secrets. You can ask a Grill Master for a recipe or technique and they will tell you everything except the real secret behind their skills. You will walk away feeling you know everything but will be blind to the truth. You can be completely free with a Grill Master because you know they will never tell your secrets. There is nothing wrong with being trussed and covered in Cool Whip but people still worry about being judged. A Grill Master would never post that picture on Twitter.

Now get out there and give your local Grill Master a hug and a wink! There is no telling how your evening will end!

Weber Q Accessories: Carts, Griddles, Lights and More!

April 12, 2015 By Weber Collins

Weber designed several nice Weber Q accessories to make your grill a little more fun to use.

Some of these accessories are interchangeable between the grills but others are size dependent.  Make sure you click the right links for your grill 🙂

Accessories for the Weber Q 100/120/1000/1200 Models

Adapter Hose for Weber Q-Series Grills: If you are only going to get a single accessory for your Weber Q then this is it.  Stop messing around with disposable propane tanks and hook your grill up to a standard 20 pound tank.  Your grill will run a little hotter off of a large propane tank and you wont keep running of fuel mid-cook.Weber Q Grill Accessories

Weber Q Griddle This is the second best accessory for your Q.  Breakfast tastes better coming off of a cast iron griddle.  You can fry bacon, sausage patties and eggs on these.  Pancakes, scrambled eggs and hash browns are excellent as well.

Weber Q Roasting Shield If you want to try grilling a whole chicken on your Weber Q then it will be a lot easier if there is an extra barrier between the bird and the burners to minimize flare ups.  The Weber roasting shields are thick aluminum foil pans with perforations in the bottom.  The shields come as a “four pack”.  You can get multiple uses from each pan but they are intended to be disposable.

Weber Q Roasting Shield

If you want to make your own Roasting shields you can place a double layer of heavy duty aluminum foil on the grate and punch a bunch of holes in it. The Roasting Shields are designed for use in combination with the Weber Q Roasting Rack.

Weber Q Roasting Rack The roasting rack elevates the meat about a half inch above the cast iron grill grate. The roasting rack is made of stainless steel and is much sturdier than the roasting shields.  This accessory holds up well and will last  along time.  The main advantage of using a roasting rack is even cooking and browning.  You will get a nicely crisped whole chicken that isn’t burnt on the bottom.

Again, you will want to use the Roasting Rack in combination with the Roasting Shields to minimize flare ups.

Weber Q Cart The cart for the Weber Q100 grill is no longer available.

There is a Weber cart available for the Weber Q 1000/1200 grills but the reviews are so bad for the product that I do not feel comfortable providing a link.  The new cart is EXTREMELY wobbly and a little top heavy.  These are NOT characteristics you want when dealing with a hot grill.

Weber Q Cover for Tabletop Grills: This is the cover for those of you that have your Weber Q 100/120/1000/1200 sitting on a table on your back porch or patio.

Weber Q Cover for Cart Mounted Grills: This is the cover for those of you that have your Weber Q 100/120/1000/1200 mounted on a Weber grill cart.

Weber Q Side Tables: If you have a Weber Q 100 or Weber Q 1000 and want to added some side tables then these are what you need.

Here are some other Weber Q Grill Accessories that are pretty nice.

Weber Q 2000 Cart

The cart for the Weber Q 2000/2200 grills is MUCH better than the crappy one Weber sells for the 1000/1200 Q series grill.  The cart for the 2000 series is pretty much the same design as the one that comes standard with the Weber Q 3000 series grill.

Weber Q Grill Parts

April 3, 2015 By Weber Collins

It’s pretty hard to find replacement Weber Q parts at Wal-Mart or Home Depot.  Fortunately almost every part you could need is available through Amazon.  In addition, finding the right parts for the different Weber Q grills is pretty easy.

The first step to identifying which Weber Q you have is to measure the length of the grill.

21.5 inches = Weber Q 100/120/1000/1200

25 inches = Weber Q 200/220/2000/2200

30 inches = Weber Q 300/320/3000/3200

The second step to identifying which Weber Q you have is to look at the ignition button.

If your igniter has a little electric symbol on the front like the picture below then your grill has an electric ignitor.  The electric igniters are found on the Weber Q 120/1200/220/2200/320/3200.

Pretty simple, right?

Parts for the Weber Q 100/120/1000/1200 Models

The Weber Q 100 is the smallest of the Weber Q grills. The Weber Q 100 is a single burner grill with a length of about 21.5 inches and a width of 27.5 inches. The Weber Q 120 is the same size as the Q 100 but has side tables and an electronic ignition.

Weber Q 100/120 Regulator Manifold Note: This Regulator does NOT fit the Weber Q 1000 and Weber Q 1200 grills.  The 1000 series grills, made in 2014 to present, use this regulator.  You can tell if your grill is a 1000 series by looking at the sticker on the back of the grill.  If you do have a regulator issue with your Weber Q 1000 series then you can probably get a free one from Weber.  This part comes with a two year warranty and as of 2016 all of these grills are still covered.

The Weber Q 200 is a larger version of the Weber Q 100. The Weber Q 200 is a single burner grill with a length of 25 inches and a width of 51 inches. The Weber Q 220 is the same size as the Q 200 but has side tables and an electronic ignition.

You can tell if your grill is a 2000 series by looking at the sticker on the back of the grill.
